We love our moms. We love them so much that on Mother’s Day, we give them flowers and take them to brunch. We might even throw in a bottle of perfume. Our elected leaders, though, don’t feel the same: In its recent State of the World’s Mothers report, Save the Children ranked maternal benefits and support in 178 countries, and, ahem, the United States doesn’t even crack the top 10. Thanks to our poor prenatal care, insistence on being the only developed nation in the world that doesn’t mandate paid family leave, and the outrageous cost of quality child care, we’re ranked 31st, and that’s down one spot from 2013. So what do moms get in the top 10 nations?
