Teeniors Is Connecting Teens and Seniors With Local Nonprofits
Hey guys!
What a crazy, cool month this has been! First, I was incredibly honored that Silver Horizons New Mexico, a 37-year-old nonprofit that supports the neediest of seniors in ABQ, recognized our work as part of its 2016 Hall of Fame. (See article here.)
Second, a local county commissioner invited me to speak with her constituents about the work Teeniors is doing. Great audience with thoughtful questions, and we provided free coaching sessions afterward!
In honor of Veterans Day, we also partnered with WESST, a local nonprofit, to provide free, one-on-one coaching for N.M. vets. A local news station did a two-minute piece on the event: Check it out here!
Finally, we won two prizes in the "Scrappy Startup Challenge" this month held by the N.M. Tech Council: a South by Southwest 2017 pass ($1,500 value) and three months’ free rent at our favorite coworking space! Due to the great press coverage the past few weeks, we’ve had several new clients reach out to us, which is awesome.
Today we held our first group coaching event of December, where we helped 22 seniors! (See photos.) And I'm excited to report that the head of AARP N.M. Outreach attended to check out Teeniors in action! He wants to set up a meeting to talk about developing a relationship between Teeniors and AARP N.M.(!), which would be amazing for us and the seniors they work with. More on that soon, I hope!
Thanks for following our progress with Teeniors. More updates to come soon!
